Haven't been into coins since I was a kid. didn't they move the initials to under the left shoulder at some point?

I was into Canadian cents and still have a near complete run of the large and small cents, wish some of our Canadian members collected.

Very nice coin, Leon. I've let my collection go dormant over the last few years, but seeing that 66+ is really cool.

| thanks

Thanks Judson. There are over 160 PCGS MS66s of this coin. I have seen very, very few that have the luster of this one so am very happy. I can't wait to receive it. And I got another scan of the "S" today....it's not as cramped up as the photo here makes it look. regards

| very nice

Very nice Leon. My grandfather started a wheat back collection for me when I was about 8 and last year I finally bought 32 of the 33 he didn't give me with this particular one being the only one I haven't picked up yet....some day I will. I save every wheat back penny I see, hoping one day for that lucky find but I have about 9,000 extras at this point if anyone wants to trade |

Here's a childhood story about Lincoln pennies: when I was a kid in the early 1960's I looked through change on almost a daily basis; in those days you could still find key coins. Around 1961 I went trick or treating for UNICEF and when I got home I searched through my entire milk carton ( a bit of an ethical dilemma, I know. I was 9). To my amazement I found a 1931-S penny, one of the key dates in the series. It was the best coin I ever found in change in my life. About two weeks later I lost it. I spent years looking through my house for it, and never found it. I never did figure out where it went. Maybe someone else picked it up and just spent it. WOW that's a nice penny! I'd be happy with anything above a filler on that one. Steve B |
