CLOSED…1971 Topps Highish Lot...ends Mon, 3/3, 8PM MST
This weekend's lot is a batch of almost high numbers...not quite in the upper echelon, but still on a lot of lists. Billy Cowan is a personal favorite in this lot, one year before his famous "halo" card in 1972. Being a union member myself, I feel bad for guys like Cowan, who represented their teams, then were blacklisted in 1972. Somebody had to do it for the boys, then they got screwed. I love the equipment sale behind Norm Cash. Was Jackie Brown photographed in a coal mine? Is that the Chuck Taylor who invented the shoes? Just a buck bid to start, with whole dollar increments. Shipping is about $5-$6 (I'll get you a total after I pack them up). and there's my standard 10-minute rule at the close. The auction closes at 8PM MST (Mountain Time), however a bid between 7:50-8:00 will extend it another ten minutes from the time of that bid, and any subsequent bid. Let me know if you have any questions.
Note on shipping: The USPS is frustrating in that you have to ship as a Ground Advantage Package to get tracking, and to be able to protect the cards from the sorting machine, which is why it's so high. Since shipping is sometimes more than the winning bid, and because I get a lot of repeat buyers, I'm happy to hold onto the cards as long as you want, to combine shipping on future wins. You just tell me when you want them, and I'll combine them, mail them, and give you the total. Most guys get 4-6 lots for the same $6 as one would cost. Cheers, Geno
