Looking for help trying to ID the possible players in this photo. It is suppose to have been taken during the 1913-14 World Baseball Tour.
I believe the guy with the big head is Buck Weaver. The guy in the black jacket looks really familiar, supposedly there is Speaker in the photo but can not ID him Thanks in advice. Lee

Actually looks like Matty to me holding the girl. He did not make the trip overseas but was on the roster when it started here with barnstorming in the Midwest and West Coast (per SABR).

This page includes some close ups and candids of the players on the tour. I don't personally feel like I see any of these players in the photo posted:

I know people pretend that time travel doesn't exist, but the dark-suited gentleman is definitely Ty Cobb from the 1930s dropping in for a visit.

Man in the back with his teeth showing I believe is Dick Egan
Man with his hands crossed and looks to be holding a guys head I believe is Louis Steve Evans I think there are only 7 players (not sure about the guys with glasses)...and while the IDs of Speaker and Weaver are 100%, there can be some doubt on the others as several guys look alike (Walt Leverenz and Dick Egan for example) so |

Less confident but better than 50/50 odds...Walt Leverenz is the disembodied head kneeling with Weaver's hand on his shoulder
also think man standing far right could be Jack Bliss...not sure about the final player standing...looks too gaunt to be Tom Daly to me but kind of thought that is who it could have been idk |

It appears to be all players from the "White Sox" team as none of these guys look like anyone on the New York team
for sure NOT in the photo are Jim Scott, Joe Benz, Germany Schaffer...probably Sam Crawford as well but the man standing far right in the dark is hard to truly see and a small chance that could be Crawford but looks more like Jack Bliss to me |

Darren, interesting that was my first thought when I saw the photo, Ty Cobb. Has anyone ID the man in the black suit?
Thanks for all the help, Lee

My final answer but reserve the right to change my mind as a few are hard to tell the difference between as noted before:
This is a photo of players that were on the White Sox team for the world tour while on a ship (know this because they are wearing the same close and all the same people are in the other group photo that is on the deck of a boat for sale one ebay) Back row, standing L-R: Dick Egan, Tom Daly, Louis Steve Evans, Jack Bliss Bottom Row, sitting/kneeling L-R: Tris Speaker (holding girl), Walt Leverenz, Buck Weaver Weaver and Speaker are unquestionable and the rest seem to be very likely IDs. All players are wearing similar shirts, man with a tie at the bottom right and man in a suit I would label as non-players. There were many other people who traveled with this tour (including families) and possible they are two of those men or could just be people on the ship with them at the same time. Here is a picture of everyone involved with the tour. I dont know if anyone has IDed everyone here or if that info is available anywhere...but we can see I think all the ball players in it that are in this photo...gives you an idea of how large this group touring was |
