Default Scamming 101 Vintage Group Lot - Cobbs, Jackson, Matty, Speaker...

We've seen this playbook before. The high bidder has to be a shill, right?

Annoying lot for somebody who might want the cards that are actually real.

I messaged the auction company for a guarantee of authenticity. The response was kind and polite but basically said they recommend zooming in on the pictures and deciding for myself. Ni guarantee

Actually, several of them look real to me. Not the ones you'd want, mind you, but several.

Amazing how all the big cards are in such nice condition and all of the commons are tattered. Usually the other way around, huh?

Yes no doubt, that's why I said it's sad for somebody who wants the real cards (all the commons)

That somebody who did is the consigner

These instances always make me wonder....Are "All Sales Final" always final? What are the odds once the cards are received the buyer is clueless and happy as can be? If you couldn't tell from the pics are they also likely to be duped in person?? Would the buyer have any legal recourse at all if they were to raise an issue after receiving them?? (Me thinking outloud)

Default Interesting couple of reviews for the seller

Very deceptive seller, purposely vague description.
Very deceptive seller. Bid estimate was based upon a real card, what I was sent was a 1970's reprint of the Joe Dimaggio 1941 playball card. This has been confirmed by PSA. I asked the seller to make good on the fraud and of course said no. In addition to this they charged me $108.00 for postage on 21 baseball cards weighting less than 1 lb. USPS priority mail with full insurance would not have exceeded $25.00. They are using postage as a profit center. I complained about this as well and no response was given to me. Very dishonest organization. Do not bid on this seller's items or do so at your own peril.

We’re sorry to hear of your concerns. The card was sold without any guarantees of authenticity and was described to the best of our knowledge. That said, we still reached out via email to try and find a resolution, despite the listing being accurate. Shipping included insurance and handling per our stated terms.

Honest and Professional
I had a question about the authenticity of an item. After researching and discussing the situation with me, I was given a full refund. I have dealt with many auction houses over the years both as a buyer and consignor and Cardenas Auctions has displayed to me both integrity and professionalism. Thank you.

You wonder if they forgot the disclaimer for the one they made right.

Wait until the buyer submits the E90-1 Joe Jackson for grading. I can hear the howls now.

Maybe the T205 Hoblitzell is the no stats back. That would erase a lot of pain.
