Default Philly Show 9/19 -9/21

Philly show good for memorabilia such as vintage trophies, advertising and equipment? Is this supposed to be somewhat of an east coast National?

Not remotely approaching the scale of a National, with 20-25% of the dealers, but as good a regional show as you'll find. You won't find a lot of those items you mentioned, it's overwhelmingly cards, but there will be some memorabilia scattered about.

Lots of dealers from the National are set up. Great weather this weekend, I expect some large crowds and the typical wheeling and dealing.

That's the way to do it for sure! Only been to a few Nationals but always went in with way high expectations of what I would find or be able to afford. The money I save by not going helps with potential purchases in the multiple auctions that are in progress at that time

If you're around there anyway, definitely worth checking out, also if you don't mind navigating the big crowds it's been attracting lately. If you make it, let us know what you see.

My planned trip (the show would have been a bonus) turned out to be a bust so it's a no go for me. Kind of bummed but no big deal!

Driven down a few times and never regretted it. But liked it more when it was in a casino. Knock off two vices in one shot.

Went to the show today. Usual group of vintage dealers were there. More dealers overall than previous shows with additional dealers seeming to be more Pokémon, but most of them were in a second room with just a few in the main room.

Made my big show purchase from William Chappell, as usual, first class all the way.

Anything interesting to report for this show? More crowded / less crowded than usual? Did SGC set up? Any new dealers with interesting cards? Anyone
Make a purchase of $50.00 or more without consulting past sales on their phone?

About to release my card show walkthrough. Still uploading. I went today and it was a breeze to walkthrough. A lot less people than the Fridays and Saturdays that I have gone in the past. SGC did not set up unfortunately. I saw a lot of the familiar dealers I've seen in the past, but a lot with some new inventory (which is great). I always have a blast when I go and this time was no exception.

I only went on Friday afternoon. From what I saw, the show was fairly typical for this venue. There was a mix of old and new, sports and TCG, singles and wax.

The line to get in was probably monstrous. I was in line 30 minutes early, and I was barely in the building. Shortly after I got there, event staff sprang into action to make sure the line (now going out the door) was orderly. No way I was going out there to take a look, though. I was near the front of the line...there were only about 150 people ahead of me.

I saw quite a few new dealers. Most of them were the TCG (Pokemon, etc,) crowd, though. I didn't spend a lot of time at those tables. I was only looking for vintage baseball cards.

Yes, I purchased all these cards without consulting past sales. I did check my phone once...to make sure the Ryan rookie had a valid cert number.

I was at the show today, place was absolutely slammed the entire time. The breadth and depth of vintage was amazing, and flowed like the salmon of Capistrano. Saw a T206 Eddie Plank for the first time-quite astounding in hand. A PSA rep also confirmed they do not use any AI to grade, it’s all by people. Lots of fathers and sons and also wives/sig others, was really inspiring to see the next generation wheeling and dealing. Bought a few packs of Disney cards for the fam, was happy to walk away without spending a small fortune, but was very tempted.
