I've seen sellers hawking cards on fleabay as those of jewish players because they have jewish sounding names but here's a new one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/TACOMA-Minor-League-BASEBALL-PLAYER-Photograph-JEWISH_W0QQitemZ110152733222QQihZ001QQcategoryZ501 29QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Or am I just being overly sensitive. A big schnozz is not simply a jewish trait.

It's careless profiling to increase profit... I'm guessing WOP. At any rate, good looking fellow.

Someone is obviously reaching here, maybe he should have a nose ring?

I am Jewish so I can laugh in the face of this moron's listing, it is actually funny and bold to list this based on the looks of a player as "Jewish". The listing is probably done by a shallow profiteer, and we must all take a humorous approach to this blatant stupidity.

I agree Jamie, but don't get bent out of shape about it.

Looks more like Joe Jackson to me...I don't think Joe was Jewish though...

He's no Ernie Lombardi. Obviously, this thread should devolve into vintage schnozzs

Here's a guy who's got three outstanding appendages on his head:

also not jewish

I'm willing to dismiss the seller as an idiot. I was more worried I was reading too much into his implication that the player was a 'red sea pedestrian' based on what seemed to be a prominent feature.

Yeah, I'd guess Italian before jewish (my honker isn't exactly a button), also, but any assumption is idiotic. Maybe his nose is like that because he took a 95 mph fastball in it.

How clueless. He's alienating the very group of people he's trying to attract.

I emailed the seller - his response:

"it was among the items in a small collection of Judaica we purchased a few years back...sports-related items included in the collection were two photographs of Sandy Koufax and one of Hank Greenberg, plus this unidentified Tacoma ballplayer."
