PSA Bulk order popped: 1952 Topps crack outs, Jackie Robinsons
Got my notification that grades were ready on my November bulk special. Here's what I ended up with:
EXCELLENT+ 5.5 1952 Topps 18 Merrill Combs Black Back *was SCD 5* EXCELLENT-MINT 6 1952 Topps 27 Sam Jethroe Black Back *was SCD 6* EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 42 Lou Kretlow EXCELLENT+ 5.5 1952 Topps 51 Jim Russell Black Back *was SCD 5.5* AA: AUTHENTIC ALTERED 1952 Topps 56 Tommy Glaviano Black Back VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT 4 1952 Topps 58 Bob Mahoney AA: AUTHENTIC ALTERED 1952 Topps 69 Virgil Stallcup Black Back *was BVG 4.5* VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT+ 4.5 1952 Topps 87 Dale Coogan NEAR MINT+ 7.5 1952 Topps 98 Bill Pierce *was SCD 6.5* GOOD+ 2.5 1952 Topps 102 Bill Kennedy EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 107 Connie Ryan EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 109 Ted Wilks EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 116 Carl Scheib VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT 4 1952 Topps 120 Bob Chakales VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT 4 1952 Topps 124 Monte Kennedy AA: AUTHENTIC ALTERED 1952 Topps 126 Fred Hutchinson EXCELLENT-MINT 6 1952 Topps 134 Joe Tipton VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT+ 4.5 1952 Topps 137 Roy McMillan EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 138 Bill MacDonald EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 152 Al Evans EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 164 Walt Dubiel GOOD+ 2.5 1952 Topps 167 Bill Howerton GOOD+ 2.5 1952 Topps 171 Ed Erautt Card EXCELLENT-MINT 6 1952 Topps 176 Hank Edwards VERY GOOD 3 1952 Topps 195 Orestes Minoso *was SGC 40* VERY GOOD 3 1952 Topps 208 Marlin Stuart EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 209 Howie Fox AA: AUTHENTIC ALTERED 1952 Topps 219 Bobby Shantz GOOD+ 2.5 1952 Topps 221 Granny Hamner EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 231 Sam Zoldak NEAR MINT 7 1952 Topps 231 Sam Zoldak VERY GOOD 3 1952 Topps 242 Tom Poholsky GOOD 2 1952 Topps 245 Sherry Robertson GOOD 2 1952 Topps 246 George Kell EXCELLENT 5 1952 Topps 249 Bobby Adams *was SCD 6* EXCELLENT+ 5.5 1952 Topps 258 Steve Gromek EXCELLENT-MINT 6 1952 Topps 264 Roy Hartsfield EXCELLENT-MINT 6 1952 Topps 265 Chuck Diering VERY GOOD+ 3.5 1952 Topps 309 Jim Busby Most of the cards here were bought over the past year from COMC. Not too many misses. Rather than paying $7 each to have the trimmed ones sent back to me raw, I had every card slabbed since I can use it in my Registry set as a filler until I get a graded one. Plus, it gives me something to inspect when I get back to get better at detecting alterations. Others: EXCELLENT-MINT 6 1950 Bowman 168 Bob Scheffing (just a good card) VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT+ 4.5 1953 Topps 186 Charlie Bishop (GT collection) AA: AUTHENTIC ALTERED 1953 Topps 1 Jackie Robinson Bought raw from COMC, and will have to look at it once I get it back. It could be recolored or maybe trimmed on an edge. Still presents nicely and I will keep it. VERY GOOD 3 1954 Topps 10 Jackie Robinson Also bought raw from COMC in their Good to VG-EX bucket.

Congrats!!
Currently stacking up my bulk lot to send to them in the next 2-3 weeks to start my own 3 month journey. I hope to have similar success!

Here's the card that gained a full point.
1952 Topps - [Base] #98 - Billy Pierce [Encased] Courtesy of COMC.com I have now cracked about 20 cards out of other holders and have only damaged one; dropped from a 6 to a 4. I sent an email to Beckett and SGC to have the cert numbers removed from their registries. I was surprised to get a call 2 days later from Beckett to confirm what I was asking (maybe they don't get many requests) and said they'd take care of it.

Nice bump on the Pierce. The way many former SCD cards successfully crossed, maybe SCD grading has been unfairly maligned.

I have had good luck with the RED SCD flips. The Blue ones are about a 25% hit for me.

Yeah, these were all red flips with subgrades. You can find them on COMC in the sold listings.
