Default Price Drop: 1965 Topps Phil Neikro (Mint)

1965 Topps Braves Rookies (#461) with Phil Niekro and Clay Carroll. PSA 9 Mint, allegedly off-center. I know that's convenient for me to insinuate that the qualifier is unwarranted since I'm the one selling the card, but just take a look at the card if you trust your eyes; expand the pictures and count the pixels if you don't.

Then read this, straight from psacard.com:
MINT 9: Mint
A PSA Mint 9 is a superb condition card that exhibits only one of the following minor flaws: a very slight wax stain on reverse, a minor printing imperfection or slightly off-white borders. Centering must be approximately 60/40 to 65/35 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse.

And note that the centering is approximately 60/40 to 65/35 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the reverse. The back of course is far better than the 90/10 cutoff, the front L-R is also far better than the cutoff, and the front T-B is 57/43. That is, at its worst measurement, which is along the less important axis anyway, the card is measurably better than the higher end of the posted range. Seriously, count the pixels if you don't believe me. Crack and resubmit, crossover, keep it in the current holder, whatever you like, but know that you are buying a mint condition card with proper 9 (actually 10) centering, according to PSA's own criteria.

I bought it earlier this year as part of a PSA graded lot, already in the 9(OC) holder. I've not yet tried to crossover or resubmit. If this is still in my collection the next time I have a group of cards ready for a submission, this one will go. (I mention that just as an honest appraisal of my confidence in the quality of the card. Feel free not to believe me; after all, I'm just some guy trying to make a buck on the internet.) I fully expect a straight 9, but presumably so did the original submitter, so make of that what you will. Anyway, I do think it's well worth the $15 or whatever it would cost to have it reviewed/graded again.

If you want a regular PSA 9(OC) you should be able to find one for $75 or so. If you want a regular PSA 9(NQ) you should be able to find one for $325 or so.

If you want a 9 in a 9(OC) holder, you can have this one for $200 $150. An agreement to buy will take precedence over a negotiation in progress.
