Default Goodwin & Co. - Adding/Moving Ball

I had previously reported on Goodwin & Co. moving a ball to keep it within view on a Gypsy Queen card (Gillespie - Old Cardboard article) and now have an example on the Old Judge side. Here is an N173 of Buster Hoover, pose 233-2, showing the original location of the ball.

We then have an example of his N172 with the ball moved closer to keep it within the card's borders.

And a semi-transparent overlay of the two cards to clearly show the varying positions. The white dot on the N172 looks less believable when you put it next to the real thing.

Both of these cards are from the Burdick collection at the Met. The number of documented variations within the set continues to grow.

Great work, Joe.

Also, nice photoshop skills with the overlay...makes for an easy comparison.

Cheers,
Steve
