Default help in IDing - Bo Jackson - Memphis Chicks - 1986 Time Out Sports??

anyone have information on this card?
some online sources say counterfeit, some say promo
found an article from 1998 with byline for Babe Waxpak (Scripps Howard News Service) that states the set and guessing the Bo Jackson card is listed in the Krause's Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards (no edition given)
does anyone have that catalog that could look up and provide any information?

thanks

My guess is a fantasy piece called a "Broder." That guy (and a couple more) would create cards to sell for $1 each at baseball card shows in the 80s. Some would be based on real designs.

Pulled this picture from a eBay listing. The portrait version is the real one. But I've seen fakes of those as well. Print runs: 5000 for the Silver and 10,000 for the Gold version. Team sets came with a numbered certificate inside.

Always been confusion on this one because PSA screwed it up for years. Even though it looks nothing like the rest of the set they would only grade the Memphis version for years and Beckett would only grade the Chicks version. I believe they finally got the message they had been grading fakes around 2013 and stopped grading it completely for a bit (which has always been the PSA path when it’s too much work to do research).

I think they will only grade the correct one now, but they will reslab the counterfeits because apparently they can’t admit mistakes.

Look at all the fakes sold recently and some in new slabs with older numbers.

Reminds me of the 1988 Cal Cards Griffey. Real pose on the left. Fake on the right. I remember seeing a few PSA slabbed fakes some 20 years ago.
