Hello All
Figured I should do this, not least of all to say how remarkable this place is!
I'm Dan, I'm in Scotland, and while I've been a fan of the game for many years, I'm very new to baseball cards. A while back I caught a glimpse of a T206 for the first time, and straight away wanted to know more! Resources like this forum have been a lot of fun to explore, and I'm only enjoying these cards the more I read about them. Have a few of my own now (decided to try and collect the NY American cards, with as many of the backs as possible on a fairly modest budget, at least to start with), and always on the lookout for more. It's a tricky business, with excessive shipping and import costs in play, but I'm figuring it out as I go along. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading members' contributions, and learning more about this fabulous set. Pleasure to be aboard, and hopefully looking forward to doing some business here sometime soon too. Cheers. |

Welcome V! Whereabouts in Scotland are you? (And are you a relocated American, or a Scot who happens to love baseball?)

Thanks Nat, the latter. Visited the US several times, and was lucky enough to fall in love with the game. I'm in a place called Falkirk. (kinda halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh if that means anything!)

Welcome to the board and good luck with the collection.
I don't know if the joke carries over to Europe or not but I know a guy looking for a job in your industry. Maybe you can help him out?

Also one of those. Hail hail! Quote:
Oh, that absolutely IS the joke. Like baseball, there's not enough love here for that show, but I'm obsessed with it. |

Welcome to the board Dan. I've been to Scotland several times, it's really beautiful. Luckily your search should be a lot easier than it used to be years ago, thanks to the internet. Good luck on your quest.

Welcome Dan
Welcome to the board Dan!
I have ancestral ties to the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas of Scotland. You might have an interest in the T215 set. This set was issued by W.D. & H.O. Wills, a British Tobacconist, under the Pirate Brand. http://t206resource.com/Article-T206...EAPirates.html Patrick McMenemy |
