I've never heard of a surviving 1914 Cracker Jack sheet. Do you know there is one?

I'm guessing those involved in the printing of CJ's are all dead by now...so I doubt you'll find a great answer?!

There are a few of us non-t206 collectors still around that would also be interested in the answer to your question, if anybody knows.

He was being facetious. Look at the number of T206 threads compared with all the others.

i bought this card from a board member ...it is cut from an advertising sheet...and I love it!!!!! I have maybe 2 or 3 other CJ's...over the years I've really grown to love them....and think they are great sets!

Now that I think about it...you really don't see many miscut CJ's...do you?

Wow, I leave for a couple days and TWO CJ threads...awesome.

I dont know of any sheets that survived 1914 or 1915. I think the only info we have to go on is cards 1-87 in 1914 claim 10 millions picures while the remainder of the set claims 15 millions pictues in the ad. Some other folks on the board noticed a variation on font on the 1914's but it didnt sound like that had anything to do with actual sheets. Those numbers do not produce even sheets by my math. It would be amazing to see a whole or partial sheet and overrun with that sea of red. Also, CJs seem to have very few MC cards, Ive owned around 300 CJ's, both e145 and e145-2, and dont recall a MC card. The worst Ive seen was a rather large lot that grade mostly 5's with qualifiers as the registration was WAY off. These sold on the bay about 18 months ago and a couple have resurfaced since then. Aren't CJ's great?

I only have one.

I really like them, but they weren't easy to come by earlier in my collecting and once they started getting expensive while easier to find they were always just a bit beyond what I would usually spend.

The 'ed' on the end of "owned" is the key...Im currently sitting on 147 with #148 being hand delivered tomorrow!

I purchased a huge high-grade lot (most of the set) from Mastro many years ago, so got a great look. I found the images to be hit or miss - some, like Rousch and Baker, are among the best on any card anywhere; others are blah to yechh. In general, the portraits are superb.

Regarding Peter's poster-Cobb - I was within inches of buying it, but couldn't determine if the image was printed the same way as the regular CJ's. If I had gotten a 'yes', I would have bought it. Great pick-up.

thanks scott...in comparing to other regular CJ cobbs the color is slightly different...could be scan...but I would expect that the stock is different...which could account for this?

It was close enough for me...for the $$$!!!
