Default The National

Have some friends that are going down on Sunday. Is it worth heading down on Sunday just for the day? I've never been before, and feel that by Sunday things will either be picked over/packed up, or dealers will be ready to seriously negotiate for some last day cash. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think it is. The thing about the national is that there are new pickups throughout the show. Besides the national is not a typical show...it's as much to see as it is to buy...and it's worth it.

National's are great, so even if you could go for just an hour, let alone a day...its worth it.
True much of the dealers stock has been gone through already but most dealers replenish inventory from the public & via other dealers.
So you might land a deal or two. Have fun!

Many dealers are packed up and ready to go home by 2pm which is a shame since customers pay their money for dealers to stay until 5pm.

I spend the first day buying and searching. What I can't buy then I try for the second and finish the day visiting.

Is this a common practice everyday or just Saturday and Sunday?
And how do they get away with this?
I'm only able to spend Saturday at the National but was hoping to get a full day to browse and buy.
It's my first National, btw.
Thanks,
Chris.

Almost all dealers will be there all day Saturday to the end. On Sunday some of them want to leave to get back to their homes before too, too late. Sunday is a mixed bag. While there can arguably be some good deals to be had, for all of the reasons that can be thought of, a lot of dealers do pack up early. IF going on Sunday it's best to go early.
