Default Another fake Darby box

Here is a similar box, with different players, to the one which I drove 2 hours roundtrip to see. Yuck. I guess there is a spate of these going around. Obviously it's not good...Hopefully I will save someone else a long road trip or a return. I am not aware of any "mini-Darby" boxes that are real. And a beat up, albeit real, E271 card for comparison. It is approximately 3 x 5.

Default Signs

Leon,

What do you look for in detecting the fake Darby boxes? What were the most obvious indicators? Thanks

Totally Bizarro World to see a Darby and a Manush grouped together.

More likely it was about a third of the size, or less, of a real one. As I said, I am not aware of any darby chocolate mini-boxes. I will say this though, it wasn't a real bad mini-fake. It looked pretty good but it would be like seeing a T206 that was 1 x 1.5 inches.

Odd that the forger didn't create these 'normal-sized'.

Maybe they were just done for fun and not to try to trick anyone? Then, of of course, downstream it turns into a pot of gold.
