Default Cool Ruth Article

[L=Ruth Story Link]http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/babe-ruth-signs-contract-play-yankees-1920-article-1.2066519[/L]

My favorite paragraph from the original article:

"If someone had announced that the Old South Church had been converted into a billiard hall, the news wouldn't have created half as much astonishment in Boston as did the report that Babe Ruth has been sold to the New York Yankees."

Baseball, back then, was such galvanizing national news; it was truly America's Pastime.

Wonderful article, Matt. Thanks so much for sharing. I love the old newspaper coverage, baseball was so well written then. The articles were poetry and the writers love for the game really shows.
