Default PSA 7 Koufax now a 3K card??

I am speechless, truly. I couldn't give one away for 1750 a few months ago.

Several bidders above the current threshold for 7s...

I think the threshold is actually closer to 4k now. That one probably stayed "low" due to centering.

There are 760 7s according to the pop report.

Whoa, that is a lot of them. I don't think I will pony up with that many out there.

That was me. I bought that beauty. I felt at the time that I was overpaying but I needed (you know, the way we collectors "need" cards) to add a fairly nice copy to my HOF RC collection. To be honest I just didn't want to get outpriced on the 7's after seeing what's been happening to special cards over the last several months.

While I live by "buy the card, not the holder", in this case I was perhaps swayed slightly and just wanted to make sure I locked up a card worthy of a PSA 7 before it was too late.

Now a few weeks later it looks like I got in just in the nick of time so I am thankful for that as I was a month away from being priced out (assuming these new levels are permanent)

Here it is in my collection now

Dang, I sold my PSA 6 about six weeks too soon! Such is life, it was worth it.

I think its real, although more that I was prepared to go. An off centered 7 went for 18k recently on Heritage I believe. That was a close to dead centered as you'll probably find on that card in a 6.

A Mantle with rare centering like that went for over 19k in a 5 a while back. 6 centered? Who knows. 30k perhaps. I'd like to see one come up.

All right, I just upgraded my Drysdale rookie to a PSA 7. And....go! (hoping some of Sandy's magic rubs off on his old rotation mate).
