SOLD!!!! 1927 New York Yankees Program / Scorecard
The Greatest team in baseball history!
RARE Home scored program for a September 8th game with George Sisler and the St Louis Browns. HOFer Waite Hoyt takes on former Ruth teammate with the Red Sox and with the Yankees Sad Sam Jones. What the hell was he so sad about? Well on that day probably the defeat as the Hoyt picked up his 20th win that day for the first time in his Hall of Fame career. Ruth would go 0 for 1 with 3 walks, and Gehrig added another 2 walks. 5 base on balls was a good attempt to stop that powerful Murderer's Row lineup, but a 2-1 victory was New Yorks that day none-the-less. The lineup that September day for the Yankees: Earle Combs CF .348 Mark Koenig SS .284 Babe Ruth RF .351 Lou Gehrig 1B .387 Bob Meusel LF .347 Tony Lazzari 2B .309 Mike Gazella 3B .312 Pat Collins C .270 Waite Hoyt P .225 Program shows its age for being nearly 100 years old, some vintage tape applied at some point, some loose inside pages, scorecard still in tact with original staples, displays gorgeously! is that a word? Can't find another one, seems the regular season home '27 Yankee programs are more rare than the '27 World Series programs which are plentiful, only in season one I could find was on Amazon oddly enough for $900. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MN0IJO4 Not all the pages are shown below, one of the ads inside it is for Babe Ruth baseball gloves. Anybody want this for $135 shipped?
I just got an offer off of here for just a hair under that, so just want to give fellow Net54ers a last shot, before this guy (who sells as well) puts this on Ebay for a high buy it now.
