Default 1909 E254 Colgan's Chip Bob Bescher???

I just wanted to share a recent discovery that needs to be shared with Colgan's Chip collectors. I have been collecting them for 15 years and have bought and sold 100's of them including Tin Tops and Red Borders. In REA's 2014 Spring Auction Lot#286 1909-1911 E254 Colgan's Chips Partial Master Set (232 of 304) including a Uncataloged Example with this description (Notably, this collection includes an example of Bescher/Cincinnati, which does not appear on the Standard Catalog checklist and is listed as one of twenty-six E254s that Larry Fritsch proposed removing from the checklist in 1996 as they had not been documented at that point in time (or since) according to OldCardboard.com. ) Since this auction I have been contacted by 3 collectors looking for the Bescher card which I have never seen. In the recent Love of the Game Auction a Bescher E270 1913 Tin Top comes up for auction and I have to believe this is the same card listed in the REA 2014 Auction looking at the front pictures, REA does not show the back of the card in the description. I have seen the E254' and E270's listed incorrectly before. Not trying to knock down REA I love their auctions just trying to help the E254 Colgan collector who I believe will never be able to complete this already near impossible set with the Bescher. The card on the left is the REA and LOTG is on the right. If anyone on here has a E254 Bescher I would love to see it.

I agree. I saw that rea listing and thought it strange there was no back scan. Therefore I believe the only Beacher is the tip top from 1912

Hi Daryl,

Other than having a type example of each of the Colgans sets, I don't really collect them but I love it when fellow collectors share information like this with the rest of the hobby.

Thanks for sharing!
