JOHN GANZEL He played with the Pittsburgh Pirates (1898), Chicago Cubs (1900), New York Giants (1902) New York Highlanders (1903–1904) and the Cincinnati Reds (1907–1908). Ganzel managed the Reds in 1908 and the Federal League's Brooklyn Tip-Tops in 1915. He hit the first ever Yankee home run on May 11, 1903. He died in 1959. JESS TANNEHILL A dead-ball era pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Highlanders, Boston Red Sox, and the Washington Senators 1894-1911. Tannehill was among the best pitchers of his era. He pitched a no-hitter in 1904 with the Red Sox. Died-1956, WALLY SCHANG pencil. He played in Major League Baseball as a catcher from 1913 to 1931 for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns and the Detroit Tigers. Schang was considered one of the best major league catchers of his era--offensively and defensively. He died in 1965. FRANK "HOME RUN" BAKER pencil. Baker played in Major League Baseball from 1908 to 1922 for the Philadelphia Athletics and New York Yankees. A member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. He died in 1963.
