Default early Johnny bench auto? - opinions please

I picked up this Jamesway Johnny bench in a lot old postcards and trade cards. the Jamesway Bench was mixed in there and I was lucky to spot it among the junk.

Is the auto legit? I know it's not consistent with his auto from the 1980s onward. But I'm wondering (meaning that I'm hoping) if it's an early auto???

I'm OK either way as I paid next to nothing for it and the card itself is is pretty scarce. Thanks.

Someone ruined a really great card.

Bench's autograph has shown consistent similarities in formation since the beginning. If you placed a 1965 example next to one signed yesterday, you could easily ascertain they were signed by the same man. Sure, there are some differences, but after 60 years, it's pretty remarkable to me how recognizable it still is to Bench, the young pre-rookie.

How often has he been referred to as John,
I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before .

Thanks. That's what I suspected. I might try to safely remove the signature, if possible.

I don't think that's possible without further damaging the card. Don't tamper with it.

+1 may have just been a young kid who felt the need to correct John Bench to Johnny Bench

It almost looks like it is printed on the card. Look at the start of the 'B'. It is very abrupt and looks like it is cut off by the lower margin.

Not printed. Here's TCDB's example, with an authentic signature:
