Default Good hitters with the ugliest stances and swings

Every time I watch Eugenio Suarez at the plate, it reminds me of watching a guy ordering a beer at the bar.

Who else do you guys thinks looks terrible, but hits well?

Rod Carew and Julio Franco wacky stances. I have no idea how they were effective

Brian Downing was the first that popped to mind. His stance was weird, but his swing was actually quite pretty and compact once he put everything into motion.

Tony Batista had a few good power seasons.

Yaz. Bagwell. Juan Gonzalez was similar to Franco. Eric Davis the opposite, held the bat very low.

Giancarlo Stanton. He looks like a caveman who has discovered a bat flr the first time when he swings but it works.

Stan Musial was a tremendous hitter. His stance was a bit odd.

I always thought Ty Cobb's grip was wacky, but it definitely worked for him.

Not well enough to get him into the Hall.

Turkey Stearnes had an insane batting stance, a lefty, he hit in an open stance which was super rare then, facing the pitcher and poking his right heel in the bucket with his big toe pointing up to the sky, extending his arms straight over the plate and angling the knob towards the catcher and the top at the pitcher. It worked for him, he was the Negro League leader in homers (186) and enshrined in Cooperstown with a .348 batting average.

Mickey Tettleton had a totally bizarre stance too.

Not a great hitter but Craig Counsell's batting stance has got to be one of the worst ever.

Was it Youkalis for the Red Sox that had that odd stance?

It was, he was the second red sox player, after Don Baylor, to be a Designated "hittee"

The winner in my humble opinion is, no doubt, Juan Soto! I absolutely cannot stand his antics at the plate. Frankly, my impression is he doesn't care about anything, or anyone, other than himself.

I may be wrong, but that's my impression.
