OT - Who Do You Use For Supplies?
Does anyone have some reccommendations of who you purchase supplies from. I need to pick up some of the following supplies, and when I search eBay, it seems that most sellers charge through the roof for shipping...
(2) or (3) cardboard graded card boxes (1) 3 or 4 row monster box that can accomodate plastic snap cases Graded card sleeves Tobacco card toploaders and sleeves Any help would be appreciated!

I have used Hotflips.com. They seem to have a broad range of supplies.
They are more affordable for me because I can go directly to the warehouse and save on shipping. Hope this is helpful. |

I think the freight cost is a universal problem. We tend to buy stuff that's either heavy, bulky, or both.
I would suggest trying to find someone close to where you are geographically, to save some on the freight. If you want some nicer boxes, I've been happy with these guys. http://aboxfactory.com/collectors.php Last edited by Jim VB; 01-16-2010 at 11:35 AM. |

one suggestion
I think I use one of the big supply guys on ebay but I forget who. One suggestion is to "overstock" up on stuff. As mentioned the shipping can be one of the bigger costs on buying supplies. I buy bubble mailers by the 500 count and I buy my small supplies in fairly large quantities, that are usually going to hold me for a few years. That way I can save on the shipping . Also, since I buy my smaller supplies in bulk I usually will call the business and get an even better deal on $200+ of supplies, if bought at once. regards

Thanks guys - this is helpful. Geographically speaking, I'm in NYC so I'm unsure if there are any places I can go that have supplies (I did try a google search).

No, but a PA company should have lower shipping costs than an Oregon supplier.

Jon--
If you are near the White Plains show this weekend you could go & pick up just what you need---usually a good place to buy supplies, esp if there are more than one dealer selling them!

I sell the tobacco toploaders and sleeves on the B/S/T and Ebay. As far as the others I go to a local shop for them. Let me know if you need andy of the toploaders and sleeves for tobaccos. I also have screwdowns for them.

Anthony,
The guys you recommended for the boxes (and I also noted in my earlier post) also have binders. Click on the link for "Photographers" on their page. |

Local shows (except mall shows) are usually pretty good for supplies. I usually load up at them a couple of times a year.

I get cardboard boxes for my graded cards from SGC - I pick them up when I stop by their offices to drop off submissions so that I can save the shipping cost.
I bought my graded card sleeves from an eBay seller - I think the ID was dreamjoey. It was $2 for 100 of them with reasonable shipping, if I remember correctly. It was a few months ago. Hope that helps. |
