Anybody familar with him? Have a card of his?
Born in Mass. (my error he was born in PA, grew up in Mass.) Played for Cincinnati in 1908, then for the Pirates from 1910-1914 and finished with the NY Giants also in 1914. He was baseball's highest paid pitcher in 1911 (the original check is at the HOF).....yet turned out being a bust. Was he baseball's first bust? https://sabr.org/bioproj/person/marty-otoole/ Last edited by Shoeless Moe; 01-01-2024 at 07:48 AM. |
