Default Pinkertons and Fatima question

Hi everyone. I was browsing the new B & L Auction and saw those great Pinkertons grouped together. I've always loved the Pinkertons and never really paid attention to the T222 set. I was reading the thread today and noticed that the T222 and Pinkertons look incredibly similar in design (without the mount). Is there a relationship between the two issues and the two companies?

Fatima and Pinkerton cards are the only real photo baseball cards from the early 1900's - both used very thin (typical) silver gel photos that were typical for the period, and I'm fairly sure both used images from the same group of photographers (Van Oeyen, etc). Those are the reasons they look so similar, but I don't think there was any affiliation between the two. Fatima were produced by Liggett & Myers. Pinkerton were produced by Pinkerton Tobacco.

Default Brands of Cigarettes

This is a good idea for a thread. I've wondered about the connection as well. I know Fatima had their own cigarette packs.

Does anyone know what brands Pinkerton had in the 1910 era? Did they have coupons inside the packs? Were they cigarettes packs or tobacco packs to get the Pinkerton T5 coupons?
