Default Ebay auctions

Can a seller decide not to sell at the end of an ebay auction with no reserve if he or she feels like the winning price isnt high enough? And if so, what recourse does buyer have with seller or ebay?

Nope, once you put an item on eBay and it sells, you have an obligation to complete the transaction. The recourse of the buyer is to leave you bad feedback and for eBay to give you the boot and not allow you to sell.

It is my opinion that it is just bad form to decide to not to complete a transaction because you were not happy with the results. Use Buy It Now with a fixed price if you do not want to risk a too low selling price.

Jeff

I my experience eBay does absolutely nothing about sellers not following through on a sale.

I know of one seller that lists several semi rare cards and cancels every one that does not get a final price he likes. He has been doing this for several years and eBay has done nothing about it.

I've sold countless items I wish I could have had back for what they ended for. That's just part of the game if you want to run straight auctions.

Dave that is because you are an honest person.

Here is a link to the person I called out on BO that I was referring to in my previous post. Like I said eBay does absolutely nothing about it even when several people report what happened. http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/b...led-order.html
