Default Music Mt. Rushmore

Was talking to some buddies yesterday, and one mentioned his Rock and Roll Mt. Rushmore. I love the music threads on here, hoping you'll tolerate one more.

These are my personal favorites, not who I feel are the "best." These are the guys I seek out on youtube or whatever.

Guitar: Steve Vai
Drums: Christoph Schneider (Rammstein)
Bass: Johnny Myung (Dream Theater)
Singer: Michael Kiske (Helloween, Unisonic)
Songwriter: Paul McCartney

Great songwriter but I would rate him below Dylan, Paul Simon, and Smoky Robinson.

Berlin is right up there with Porter IMO, and Armstrong and Ellington should be on the list too.

I think Prince belongs due to his sheer versatility as a musician. Not to mention how the moment he had to dedicate himself to something, he did it with 100%. Also a convenient excuse to post the below video. The story behind it, apparently, Rolling Stone, left him off the list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists" and he took personal offense to this. It leads to such an incredible display of musical talent. Classic Prince flair at the end.

Luois has countless cards in various Dutch Gum and Maple Leaf sets. A couple here, plus his "rookie" card as far as I can tell from 1952 Felix Potin (French).

Good to know - I'm going to have to get some of these. I didn't realize there were jazz fans on Net54 - I am a big one myself.

IMO, the high water mark for AIC.

I remember how my parents loved the standards (and classical) and thought the Beatles and all the amazing music of the 60s and 70s I grew up with was trash. To them, it all sounded like, "baby, baby." And now I feel the same way about pretty much anything 1990 to present. Alice in Chains, indeed. LOL.

Default Played the YouTube clip!

Okay I read this thread before but hadn’t clicked on the You Tube clip until now.
Holy crap. Prince absolutely shredded this. What a kick ass rendition of George’s classic.
Newfound appreciation of Prince!
Thank you for sharing!

Probably my favorite song and favorite performance of it. Breathtaking. Nearly redeemed the entire wretched R&R HOF in 6 plus minutes.
