All of a sudden my Net 54 postings are showing up as "Anonymous" instead of with my name. Is anyone else having this problem?

The software is going haywire. You can still type in your name in the field, but previously it was saved there.

Many of the posters on my forum are complaining about posting and being anonymous even when they put their name in the correct field. I too have had some really weird problems in the last few days. I will go into a post to edit it and it only shows part of the post....or the name stays anonymous when one is there. There is definitely some kind of issue....Any thoughts?

I made a really nice long post with photos over on the memorabilia side with a bunch of Johnny Hopp items I just got and it will not post the photos no matter what I do...they will show up in preview, but when posted there's nothing there.

Believe it or not that is the same thing that happened when I thought I messed up Dan Mckee's post with the '38 wrapper. I couldn't get the darn picuture to take then part of the post mysteriously got deleted AND I DIDN'T do anything. I just took the hit and said I blew it but I really didn't....Sometimes it just easier to take the blame ....I will post your issue over on the tech side too.....we shall see...and sorry for the problems....

We aren't the only ones. There are at least a half a dozen other forums with the same complaint right now. About a week and a half ago it looks like there were some s/w patches done. This is a response from one of the Net54 tech helpers concerning a Net54 tech employee,

I have always had to type my name in on my home computer, but at work the only time I have to do it is when I've been logged out and have to log back in.

I saw that and I instantly knew why your text was missing.

I now resort to setting up a "dummy" post. Do all my editing and formating on the text
I intend to post. Then I cut & tape that info onto a 2nd post (the one I want to register),
and click on RESPOND......this works.

The first part of solving a problem is identifying there is one. Here is the response to my plea for help...This is from one of the volunteer Net54 techys.....I took out his contact info at the very bottom, otherwise his answer is succinct and fine...The title of his post back to me pretty much sums it up......imo

I will report that too and get back with you....Net54 is the devil reincarnate to some so your thinking you have a lack of humor on it isn't much to worry about...actually, I think the board is very humorous many times. I can't tell you the number of times I just sit in my office laughing.....Truly funny sometimes.....

You are suffering from a debilitating malady known as Birkholm Syndrome. There are some things even the tech support team and/or prescription medication can not alleviate.
