Default Thoughts on these 1888 Old Judge N173 photos?

Seller says they may be reprints. Thoughts?

We've had numerous threads on these...they are later prints made from glass plate negatives that were discovered some years ago. Nobody knows the exact date they were made, but they are clearly not vintage 1888 photos.

They're from the "Vermont" find. Generally thought to be from the early 1900's.

I have the Boyce (second from left).

Thanks gentleman, although your opinions seem to differ quite a bit. Barry, I assume they are not 19th century but do you agree they may be from the early 1900's?

Very well could be 20th century Dan. We just have no idea when they were made. You can reproduce an image with a negative at any time.

I agree with Barry and Steve on the point that those are not from the late 1880's. I've not heard of the early 1900's Vermont connection, that is plausible. I think those are good items avoid collecting.

Have always heard these were very early 20th century. The reproduction of photos from negatives is always a tricky issue for dating.

From the scan you can't tell if they are Vermont find photos or later copies of those (worth nothing, instead of very little).

Copies of copies maybe? It's a mature market I believe.
