Default W600 SGC population reports?

Can anyone help me find the population reports on the SGC website for W600's? I can't find them, even if I do a search by player. I'd prefer to see them all in one place, if they are available. I've tried every variation of 1902, 1902-1910, etc. anyone have the magic touch?

Thanks in advance.

put in 1902-11 and sporting life will be the link. This particular search only shows 13 graded so that is way off, I have twice that many alone. if you have a SGC W600 put exactly what is on the label in the box and use that to try and find another set of pops. I will have to see what mine are actually labeled.

Yea W600s are annoying in that you're never sure which ones still exist and which ones are just names on the checklist.

Has anyone every taken a real survey of W600s?

Default update

I just went back and "checked" all the boxes on the show sets and now have 194 showing on the pop report.

At this point there is no real way to know exactly which ones were ever ordered and/or survived. SGC has graded 194 according to the report and many of those are multiples, so they have graded less than 100 different.

Default thanks - that did the trick!

thanks for your help! First type in: "1902-11", then click Sporting Life, then click Cabinets, Cabinets, Cabinets. Not the most intuitive, but I now have what I need. Thanks!

Jack,

OC has a gallery of images that they say represents about 60% of the known W600 images.
http://www.oldcardboard.com/w/w600/w600gal1.asp

There are about 200 in the gallery, which means that there are about 300-350 known. That number includes multiple (different) cards of a single player, such as three different Cy Youngs. The differences include pose, team change, and type of mount. Backing out the multiples leaves us with 165 players. If the same ~60% holds true, that would mean that maybe 250 players are known out of the more than 600 originally available.

Bill,

I would put the number of different ones out there in the 400-500 range and quite possibly even into the mid 500's.

Good luck with that one, Mike. I had been searching for one of those for almost 10 years before landing a 1903 W601 Chicago Cubs premium this year. That's probably as close as I am going to get so I am happy with that one.

Default W600s

There are 465 different players on the Sporting Life checklist of 687 cabinet cards.

Getting into and navigating the SGC W600 pop list is a nightmare from the start. In the printout only half of each of their pages of names is printed out. The second half of their page prints only the SGC heading leaving the rest of the sheet blank. In order to get the missing names that should have been printed on the blank space I had to copy and paste them into separate document. Also the list of player names is in alphabetical order using their first names! It doesn't say much for their choice of a webmaster.

On the other hand, the PSA checklist is simple and instinctive, alphabetical by last name and prints out perfectly.

W600 graded by SGC 194 - PSA 157.

Evers is one of the toughest of the HOFers.

Mike,

You can print this one out and frame it later W600 as are all of the pink tinted ones, by this time most of the luster had long been gone from this promotion and makes many of the later HOFers much harder to find than the eariler ones.

I have the intention of scanning all of my W600's this winter and putting them on one of the online free hosting sites. Any suggestions as to which one is best or easiest to use?

Scott:

Wasn't the Evers first available in 1903, making it one of the earlier HOF'ers issued?

Phil,

Not sure without looking, I know it can be found with the type 3 mount which predates this type 4.

Imageevent, it's not free, but only $25 per year and much better than photobucket which is the only free one I have used. Very easy to use and well worth the $.

Great Evers by the way. Thanks for the help the other day, you were right everything was fine.

Scott, I believe you can post all of your W600 scans right here on Net 54. If you click on "community" on the blue task bar, you'll see where others have posted their collections. Also, Leon sent out an email to all of us advertising a new website, whitewhalecards.com, where people are encouraged to post their collections.

Everyone is always invited to use the free web space, on the board, to host scans. Our site is quite reliable and will host around 400 or so pics per user, I believe. I hope everyone takes a second to see the many, many folders of cards from our members that are already there (and have been for quite some time). Just click the word "Community" in the dark blue line across the page, while logged in, and you will see a pull down menu. The first option is Pictures & Albums. I have close to a hundred scans there. It's extremely easy to use.

I would second the recommendation for Imageevent. Very easy to use, clean design and for $2 a month you can't go wrong.
