Default Let's see your photos of Men in Suits!

I figure just about every photo collector has at least one...

The Bambino and teammates enjoy looking at photos of themselves at the Underwood & Underwood Photo Dept during a World Series Rain-out in 1915. TYPE 1.

Default A few of Lou

All type 1's

Late 1920s with Bengough doing a little home improvement.

OK he's not technically in a suit, but he does not have a uniform on if that is close enough! From Christy Walsh's personal scrapbook
Lou with Christy Walsh Jr. (TY Jimmy!)

Lou and Eleanor after getting married. 1933

Christy Walsh's Sports Parade. His stable of talent. I know a couple.
Schacht, McCarthy, Ruth(inserted), Bergen, Walsh(back row), and Lou.
Anyone recognize the others?

Lou in the movie Rawhide in 1938. From Christy Walsh's family. It looks so much better in person.

I was going to include semi-birthday suits, and since you got the ball rolling, so to speak... 1936 Gehrig TYPE 1 From the Christy Walsh Estate.

Spectacular photo Jimmy!! I have a number of images with Mickey in a variety of suits as well as semi-birthday poses. Can't get to them at the moment as I'm doing some "home remodeling" and just to be safe, removed almost all of my photos to my brother's house. All I can post now are images from auction sites of items that I won.

Hopefully, this won't last too long (fingers crossed) and I can share some of this stuff with all you guys.

Aside from individuals of interest, seems we are both fascinated with these images and events "frozen in time".

It ALL counts Phil. Let's see some suits! Suits, Suits, Suits.

1933 TYPE 1 photo shows Jimmie Foxx accepting his All-American Award from the King of Clout Himself. I guess you can call these Power Suits.

Technically a card, but since I seldom if ever post cards on the other side, here's an OT suit

This might be my favorite "suits" photo, as it shows the great DiMaggio posing for the press as he had just announced his retirement on December 11, 1951

Note: This was one of my photographs that was featured in Harvey Frommer's 2008 Book entitled "Remembering Yankee Stadium" which is a must for any Yankee fan.

Funny, I looked at the Connie Mack cabinet photo before the identifying info and thought that it was Mack right away. I guess that's a good sign (or I don't know what I am talking about)

Doug - that's the part of you that you should listen to. Though he is a man in a suit, he isn't Connie Mack. Among other things, the ear does not match. (also upper lip/philtrum, wavy hair vs. straight hair....)

Thanks Mark,

This photo belonged to Dutch Zwilling. He ID'd Stanley as #2. That portly codger in the back is unknown. I have a scan of the back somewhere. The boys must be on a break from that grueling Fed training regimen.

Here's two photos from Joe & Marilyn's big day, either taken just before or right after yours was taken Lance. And as a companion piece is this neat receipt for Roses for Monroe from DiMaggio. From the DiMaggio Estate.
