Default New SABR 19thC book is out

Well, it only took about 3 1/2 years, but SABR's "Inventing Baseball: The 100 Greatest Games of the Nineteenth Century" is out. A combined effort of 42 people. I was fortunate to serve as photo editor for this great team.

Default book

Looks so amazing but m heartbroken knowing that Dummy Hoy isnt in the book. He was the big playing role in 19th century baseball with the umpire signals, speed and his love for the game.

Im really tired of people taking Dummy Hoy for granted. I will live and still buy this book out of my love for baseball and N54.

Danny - Keep in mind the book's title: "100 Greatest Games of the Nineteenth Century", not the 100 greatest people. There were many more submitted than the 100 finally settle upon. We were looking for significant games. Hoy's career and contributions are well-known. We may have missed something, but I don't see the tie-in to a particular greatest game.

While I have the opportunity, let me echo what Tom.Hufford posted on the other side:
Just a note -

SABR members can download the ebook edition FREE, and get the printed paperback edition for $9.99 plus postage (about half-price). No need to pay the Amazon prices! And with more books to come from SABR in the coming months, that's even more reason to join.

If you're not a SABR member, check it out here - and join us!
