Default Mystery 1993 Topps Case

Any ideas on this? It says it contains 432 packs - do we know if these were standard wax packs? I presume this was also a packaging option for series 2 as well. Any images of the display stand fully assembled would be appreciated.

Nice case. Not sure the official term but I always referred to them as Grocery display cases. You put together the cardboard pices inside to construct a display and filled it with the included packs. 432 packs means it is Equal to 12 , 36 count Wax Boxes.
As far as value, the key is that has the 93 Jeter Rookie and could / should have a Jeter Gold card. But open it up and I think the value goes down alot. Jeter collectors and unopened collectors will both be attracted to this case because it was produced in much smaller numbers than regular wax cases. And all you need at auction is 2 collectors fighting it out.
If you were to open it up, put it together and display it in you den / Hobby room. I am sure you would get alot of enjoyment. But you would get less money when you eventually sold it. Either way Enjoy..

Case isn't mine - I found the image online. The source indicated it holds wax packs. I have images of the large grocery jumbo cases that convert into store display stands. I'm trying to track all the various packaging varieties Topps used year to year, and through 1993 this is the first one I've seen with a 432 count. The Grocery Jumbos topped out, I think, at 120.
