Default Questions about REA's auction site

This is the first REA auction I've bid in since they switched to their new platform. I noticed that emails confirming my bids or indicating I was outbid took a long time to actually arrive. As an example, I received an email at 10:42 PM for a bid I placed at 9:57 PM. The email was received 20 minutes after the lot closed.

Also, on the My Bid List page, the total of my winning bids usually did not show the correct amount. It eventually did but it took a while to correctly update.

Has anyone else experienced the same behavior?

The emails come pretty quickly for me but not the texts which I have not received all evening (despite placing several bids and then being outbid).

You are correct about the total of your winning bids. If you're not sure if you're high bidder on a lot, I recommend going to that lot, clicking on Bid History, and seeing if your bid is on top.

Strange since it's the opposite for me. The texts seem to come right away but the emails are very slow to arrive. I just got another one at least 50 minutes after my bid was placed. Since I was on my computer, I was looking at the emails more than texts so it was confusing to keep track of what was current without checking individual lots just to be sure.

I think the only reliable way is to have the My Bid List page open and watch to see if any bids change (after you determine if you are the high bidder). The Notifications on that screen update for me very quickly as well.

Website was a little laggy around 10 pm. I usually just follow the "My Watching" page (which I'll curate as my hopes and dreams from all my bids fade).
