Any ideas why Pete Rose is wearing #27 in this Jay's Publishing photo? I can't find any other information on the internet about him ever wearing this uniform. Did he wear #27 in spring training before switching to #14? Did he misplace his uniform for a day? Thanks.

I believe that was a spring training uniform during his rookie year. Here are photos with uniform numbers 27 and 11.

Very interesting. Thanks. Do you know which uniform style is older, the #11 or #27?

Pete wore 11 in Geneva in 1961 and in 62 with Macon Peaches he wore 27 in spring training 1963. Then switched to 14 when made the team not 100% on the whys believe his father wore 11 when he played football is what comes to mind couldn't explain the others.
