Although I was a bit young to remember him pitching for the Twins, I do recall how his trade to Cleveland landed us Mudcat Grant, who was a crowd favorite and the A.L.'s best pitcher his first season in Minnesota-- a 21 game winner who led us to the pennant. I also remember him on the Red Sox- where he was a pretty decent performer for those guys.
RIP.

Lee Stange will always hold a special place for me. I pulled a 1971 Stange card with a blank back out of a pack when I was a kid. It was the first major printing error card I'd ever gotten and it led me to collect 1971 error cards. RIP Stinger.
