On July 26, 2018, Ranger Suarez started for the Phillies.
This was the first time the Phillies sent out a southpaw to start since September 28, 2016.
Seem extreme?
Another team, perhaps with the best history of LHSPs in all of Baseball, went MUCH, MUCH longer between starts by a lefty.
On September 24, 1992, Bob Ojeda started and lost 8-4 against the Reds.
The next time the Dodgers had a lefty starter was on July 13, 1996, when Denny Reyes beat the Giants 9-3.
