Highest WAR Multi-Player RC w/ No HOFer?
Picked this card up today:
Got me thinking...is there a multi-player RC that doesn't feature a Hall of Famer with more total WAR represented? Using BB-R WAR, Blue has 45.1 and Tenace has 46.8 for a total of 91.9. Can anyone think of a card with a higher total? Maybe we need 2, 3, and 4 card categories? (Apologies if this has already been discussed. If it has, I couldn't find the thread) |

Almost a dead heat with Dwight Evans and Al Bumbry. 91.6 as I read it.

I remember going to a Giants game in 1978 and seeing Vida Blue shagging balls in the outfield during batting practice. He would reach down and flip the ball backwards, like he was hiking a football to his side, into the outfield bleachers, where people would scramble after the balls. It made me think he was a fan-friendly ballplayer.

This one is kind of cheating, but technically meets the criteria:
1963 Topps 537 Pete Rose - 79.6 Al Weiss - 2.3 Ken McMullen - 34.0 Pedro Gonzalez - 1.3 Total - 117.2 |

Or perhaps 1978 Topps 708 will be more palatable:
Bo Diaz - 11.5 Dale Murphy - 46.5 Lance Parrish - 39.5 Ernie Whitt - 18.3 Total - 115.8 |

But not Dale's RC.

1972 Topps #79 was 106.6 with Cecil Cooper (36.0), Carlton Fisk (68.4) and Mike Garman (2.2), but obviously there are higher.

Multi-player rookie card? Check.
No Hall of Famers? Check. High total WAR? Check. |
