New Acquisitions Thread
Seems like these threads die each month after a few posts, so why not a thread that is not time limited?
1958-59 Heinerle Meadowlark Lemon rookie: Diamond Match Bill Cook: Can anyone ID this player?

I never buy post-career cards but for some reason I now have three Russells with the addition of the coin.

Not really a new acquisition. But I have been working on this set for about 7 years. The last piece of the puzzle arrived today.I was so pleased yo fill that last spot in my binder. It is a small set, only 70 cards. It is a how to set with a few cards from many different sports. And as you can see, being a Canadian release it is a bit hockey heavy as compared to many of the other sports involved in the set. These were a hand cut set of cards. So perfect cards are not all that plentiful. But I can say with certainty that I was pleased to fill that last hole in my binder today. Thanks.

Fantastic pick-up for me this month! This is an original 1930 portrait photo of Hockey HOFer Dick Irvin with a vintage fountain pen signature dated December 7, 1930. Irvin had just finished up his HOF playing career, and in 1930 was in his first season of what became a legendary NHL coaching career:

This is my companion piece to the photo above - a high-grade example of Dick Irvin's tough rookie card (this was acquired a few months back):

This was hiding in a binder for over 10 years. I forgot that a Parent rookie was part of my collection until I recently rediscovered it...feels like a new acquisition to me.

Here are a few recent hockey pick-ups:
• 1960 letter to Ted "Teeder" Kennedy signed by Clarence Campbell (elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966) • Jean Beliveau Molson postcard from the 1960's. This one is cool because it is signed twice and includes a personal note written by Beliveau himself, explaining where he was when this photo was taken • A 1967 General Mills Bobby Orr with a sweet signature!

Not recent pickups, had these since 1971, but with all the neat Bobby Orr items, figured I'd show some of mine

Winging its way here from Europe as we speak:
From 1958, he was one of the greatest Soviet players and coached the 1972 summit team that nearly beat the NHL all-stars.

Proof Cards
I am very happy to have picked these up from the bay. Ten blank backed color proofs, along with one standard card from the 76-77 Topps Hockey release. Pictures to follow:

This ebay purchased arrived today leaving just four cards to complete the 1961 Topps set. Pat Stapleton had a 15 year NHL WHA career, but this card always looked a little creepy to me.

This card completes my 1966-67 Topps hockey set. The card gets an A grade because it is trimmed, SGC "customized" the gasket to prevent the card from moving around.
