Default Les Wolff Sports LLC- Ty Cobb/Cobb back & Ruth autographed bat at National

Hey Folks
I sent this out as an email blast today and since it's so close to the National I told Les I would also post it for him on the board. It sounds like he's got some T206 errors along with the Cobb/Cobb. Les told me, but don't hold me to it, the asking price on the Cobb back is 250K. Scans were taken with a phone so they aren't that great.

Les Wolff Sports LLC is proud to be setting up at the 2013 National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago. Here is a sampling of what we will have at our booth (811 promenade). For the First time in our 5 decades of collecting, selling, appraising, buying, consigning, and auctioning we will have an autographed Babe Ruth bat. It is graded PSA 7. Another spectacular item is a rare T206 Ty Cobb with Ty Cobb back card, “King of the Smoking Tobacco World”. It is graded a PSA 2 and looks magnificent.

Along with other rare T206 cards are ERROR cards, many never seen in years. There is a Lou Gehrig Goudey card, autographed in pencil, which is graded a 5. It is encapsulated by PSA along with some of the rarest of rare autographs which include a Jack Johnson autographed 8x10 BxW photo, in boxing pose. It is only the 2nd one we have ever seen along with a Babe Ruth/Tris Speaker/Ty Cobb autographed baseball. There is a Curly Lambeau autograph album page encapsulated and spectacular. Other notable items are Basketball’s Pistol Pete autographed 8x10 photo, a Robert T Jones (the Babe Ruth of Golf) 3x5 autograph, a Rocky Marciano autographed 11x14 B & W photo of him hitting Jersey Joe Walcott with the historic punch!! There is a Con Smythe autographed photo and 1000's more. If you can't make it to the show you can view our all new web site at http://www.leswolffsportsllc.com/ or call 516-933-7787 or email us at lwolff1823@aol.com.

We will also have one of the largest sports, celebrity and presidential collections of signed books to ever be at the national. With Vince Lombardi, Jack Johnson, Greg Allman, Pete Townsend, Rod Stewart, Mickey Mantle, Pistol Pete Maravich, Muhammad Ali (The Greatest of all times), Jack Dempsey, Hank Aaron, Jim Brown, Joe Namath, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer; you name it we have it!! If Les Wolff Sports can't find it then no one can. Hope to see or hear from everyone real soon. Don't forget to collect, invest, protect and preserve your cherished memories.

Correct me if im wrong, but I believe 2 is the baseline for writing. A card that is otherwise Ex can be a 5(MK) or a straight 2.

I would think the crease and the stain would make it a 2 w/o the writing but for that back the grade is irrelevant. Nice card!

Agreed. Assuming I'm right, the system really favors cards that are legit 2's plus have writing on them.

Grade is never irrelevant.
