Stars in unusual uniforms at the end of their careers.
I am starting a set of stars who are depicted on cards wearing "unusual" uniforms during the last 1 or 2 years of their pro careers.
These are the first three that instantly came to mind. |

Griffey in a White Sox uniform is always jarring. I do appreciate that both he and Ichiro went back to Seattle to finish their careers.
It was also weird seeing Hideki Matsui in Angels, A's and Rays jerseys to end his career. |

I love this idea! I've thought about putting together a subset like this in the past as well. Here are some that come to mind...

Four HOFers played for the Royals. One (Brett) for 21 years. The other three (Cepeda, Killebrew, Gaylord Perry) for one year each.

The Mets had 5 HOFers play their final season in NY, Richie Ashburn, Gil Hodges, Warren Spahn, Yogi Berra and Willie Mays

88. Traidorous
The feeling of treachery you get when seeing pictures or cards of an all time great dressed in the uniform of a rival team he was dumped off to in the twilight of his career.

Not Post 1980s but this is one of the few images of Ruth in his final uniform:

Not the end, but Piazza in a Marlin uni, although didn't he play for the Padres too at the end?
Willie Davis as a Cardinal/Padre Al Oliver as a Dodger/Giant/Blue Jay/Philly Vizquel as a Blue Jay, have a nice Topps Archive buyback auto card signed in BJ uni.

Winfield probably had more cards than plate appearances as a Cleveland Indian in 1995.

Thome ended his career with the Orioles, but getting their mid season meant he has very few cards as an Oriole.

Had no idea Doc Gooden pitched for Houston or that Patrick Ewing played for the Magic. So those were very weird.
Don't have a pic but Mike Piazza as an A always seemed bizarre. Saw that Frank Thomas and Eric Karros ended there as well so they were all about retiring the stars of the 90s. |

I can't believe Dave Winfield let them put a photo up of him in a bunt pose.

Ok, this one has me baffled. I know DiMaggio almost got traded to the Red Sox but the deal fell through. What's the story here?
