Mr. Joe Bosley, wherever you are?
Anybody remember him? - he was a fantastic card dealer who had everything in his shop during the the 90's. Playball's, Goudey's, T-everything, autograph's, on and on!! He hailed from Reisterstown, MD.
Super guy, too!! |

Joe was a good guy, died much too young. He and Dan McKee, Sr., had several hundred thousand dollars in cards stolen at the 1991 National in Anaheim.

Glad you remembered!!
I remember reading about the Anaheim show in the papers. I believe there were suitcases ripped off at the airport. Used to travel to Aberdeen on gov't TDY, from Alabama. At night, I would speed over to his shop with my wantlist. He was best dealer in MD. Back in the day - before e-bay!!

I think their cases were carried out of the building at the end of the day. Eventually they won a settlement from the promoters based on inadequate security.

Estimate
I remember from the newspaper article, an estimated 1/2 mil. was the value of the stolen cards.
