Default 1967 All-Star Pennant

Finished one part of Angels pennant collection by picking up this 1967 All-Star pennant. I really wish they would have moved the Big A back into left field when the stadium was renovated.

Great Pennant (and a real toughie!)

I felt that way too.... was really hoping they would move the "A" back where it belongs. The renovation was pretty neat, but that classic Big A in Left Field was magical. I can still recall Lee Stanton hitting one of the legs of the "A" on 2 bounces. A mammoth blast!

1938 Cincinnati Post special All Star Edition featuring NL starting pitcher Johnny "Double No-Hit" Vander Meer.

This might look pretty cool framed up with my ticket stub from the game...
Whattya think?

Dave is right on Bob. I've seen a few of these over the years. Definately 40s or 50s, BUT still great pieces, so be excited

Default Antique picking last weekend

This past weekend my dad, my son and I spent the day hitting an estate auction and an antique/paper show, and the three generations of us were all pretty excited by our pickups. First at the estate auction, what had been billed as some old baseballs turned out to be well worth stopping by for. The cream of the crop was a 1928 Philadelphia Athletics team signed ball featuring Cobb, Speaker, Mack etc; for some reason signed on a Spalding National League ball. Then at the paper show, I met up with a fellow Carlisle Indians collector and worked out a trade that we were both happy with - I ended up with a circa 1910 Carlisle Lacrosse team photo, a Carlisle football team photo (most likely a shop team), and a Letter award for playing Lacrosse that is signed by Pop Warner. The most exciting find of the show beside that trade was a very attractive Dieges & Clust Figural Baseball Plaque dated to 1916. Overall a pretty fun day.

Default Pesky baseball

I posted this on the autograph forum earlier, but figured I would post as a reply to my previous post here, since I picked this ball up with the 28 A's ball.
One of the other balls that came with this Pesky ball included a 1945 dated baseball signed by various servicemen stationed at Pearl Harbor. The ball in question is a Reach Harridge model ball, with a US Navy stamping. It has 2 signatures, 1 of which is Johnny Pesky. I was curious if any recognizes the second signature? Based on its inclusion with the Pearl Harbor ball, my theory is that a Navy serviceman had Pesky sign this ball in 1945, since Pesky was also stationed at Pearl Harbor at the time. The 2nd signature might not be a player at all, but figured I would pick the brains of the auto experts over here.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Keith
