Personally, I would be nervous. Check out http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/.../2012/365.html. I found this in about 90 seconds. To me it looks like the same card, particularly from the back. Notice the crease in the corner and mark by Philadelphia combined with the other stains.

I agree, looks to be the same exact card to me. I'd hold off on paying for that one.

I would be asking questions and talking to this guy on the phone before I sent any money. His feedback is much less than inspiring given the nature and value of this card..Also, of the 3 sales he has made in the last year, the combined feedback of the 3 buyers is 6.

absolutely is the same card.....look at caramel stains on the back. Look at small dark stain on the P in Philadelphia. You can match every stain, small and large on the 2 cards....

I contacted the seller pretty quick after it was posted. Asked for additional scans and a local p/u to this response:

Dear rainier2004,

Yeas it does seem to be trimmed i had a employee list this item on night shift last night so i will have to revise it sometime today. It looks like all the sides may be trimmed. There are also glue stains on the back of the card that has bleed through to the front. Also there are two pin holes all the way through the card that can not be seen in the photo. I will try to get some more pictures so you can see the other flaws the card has.

He does offer money back, but left me uncomfortable ignoring the p/u question as I told him I was right down the street in NJ. His feedback is on very low-priced items, non-bb cards. He had a raw ex+ 1953T Mantle f/s as well that looked fishy to me as well and is longer posted. Couldnt find the pinholes in the scan...be careful here boss. Good luck and let us know.

I agree with the guys who have responded so far. Leon makes an excellent point. Look at the seller's feedback. He hasn't sold anything else remotely close to this price. In June 2009, he sold something for just over $200.

Isn't it odd that all of a sudden he would be selling a premiere vintage Jackson card? His 3 current auctions are for fishing reels <$5.

Do us all a favor, since you created this thread, and let us know what happens.

Good luck.

Leon is totally right. He has only made 3 sales in the past year and each buyer has 3 or fewer feedbacks. Something stinks and stinks bad. The poor grammar is also a give away. If someone makes more than 5 grammatical errors per sentence I stay away from the listing. But let me get this straight you paid 4700 for an ungraded card listed on ebay from a guy that has made three five dollar sales in the past year and who can't compose a sentence any better than a second grader. Doesn't seem like the smartest thing in the world to do.

it's a good buy if you get the card from the scan.

PayPal tells me they have to give the seller until the 29th to respond why does it take a second to pay but 10 days to get a refund? Rob

Hopefully this all works out for you and it'd be nice if the seller has convicted fraud that there would be some type of penalty.

The only way this can work out is you do not get the card, and you get a refund. If the seller owned the card, and cracked it out, he would not be selling using a cropped version of the REA scan. In addition, he lied to Steve and said that the card was trimmed. No, the scan is trimmed. There is no card.
