Jimmy (King of Clout) recently started an "Ohio Baseball" thread that went a pretty long way, and contained lots of good Reds stuff (as well as Indians...)

If some of you don't mind seeing it again, here are a few of mine from that thread. The 1919 Pennant is very rare, and represents the team that "defeated" the Black Sox. Since this is my favorite topic for a thread, I'll try to post more pieces later...

I would like to think he was wearing it when he blasted Bill Lee's eephus pitch over the Green Monster in Game 7 of the WS...

That 1919 Reds pennant is awesome Perezfan! Also, I have never seen that 1940 Reds NL Champs pennant. Wow. Here is my pennant from the same series.

That is one sweet pennant, Tigerden! Looks so classy the way you've framed it. Double-scroll pennants like that are so tough to find, and yours from 1940 approaches "holy grail" status... especially for a Reds (or Tigers) Fan. I just love the look of that one...

Thanks for posting it! Regarding mine... yes, the 1919 pennant is insanely rare and desirable for obvious reasons. I just picked up the 1940 Pennant last month (on ebay of all places). Until then, I had never seen another like it either... and that's after 20 years of collecting these. So I have to believe it's a rare one as well.

It doesn't get any cooler than this if you're a Reds fan! It's a scoresheet/schedule printed between the 1869 and 1870 seasons. Check out the scores of some of the games. Not exactly pitchers' duels. Heritage Auctions sold it for $10,000 last month.

Jonathan - the scorecard is an awsomely cool item , but annoying nit-picker that I am , I have to point out that it has absolutely no relationship to the current Cincinnati Reds franchise, which began in the American Assoc. in 1882, and transfered to the NL in 1890.

My uncle got this for his sister in 1935 while a member of the Reds. A women's compact. Reds logo in bottom right is worn--almost no color left. Not sure how well it will present here but an odd and interesting piece

Thanks Jimmy, I picked it up on eBay. I was really happy when I won it. Your right Warhol original photos are very hard to come by and I just love that this one has Tom Seaver (one of my favorite pitchers) in it.

For me collecting original photos is a lot of fun b/c I feel it is the only thing in the hobby that truly takes you back to a specific moment. I have to say I've been nothing but impressed by your collection of original photos. You have some incredible masterpieces.

Recent pickup a few months back. The ring belonged to part owner of the Reds David Gamble..I assume the brooch belonged to his wife.

A few snapshots

1973 Reds outside the Astrodome. Top four are easy. Name the player in the bottom pic.

1990 Reds clinch the division. They got rained out, but clinched due to the 2nd place team losing out west. We hung out and watched the Reds players sliding on the tarp to celebrate. It was a beautiful day before the game - we stopped and chowed down on Metwursts before-hand. But no baseball.

I was a huge pre-Morgan Reds fan. Any time the Reds were in town I begged Dad to take me. Every Reds-Astros game was super-fantastic, but my favorite involved Tony Perez who was my favorite Red. Perez hit a home run on a rope that was heading straight for us in left field (we sat about 15 rows up). Everyone in my family hit the deck, but as I looked up my Dad was jumping in the air with his arms outstretched. I'll never forget that image of Dad. (he didn't come close to catching it).

That's a beautiful display, Dave. Even a non-Reds fan like me can envy it!

My only Reds item is a 'faux-vintage' Mitchell and Ness 1936 pennant. I won it in a contest and it's been in my stack of Orioles/Colts/NYRangers pennants ever since. But I hang on to it thinking that one day I'll put it up.
