Uncut sheets Topps 1971 and 1972 any idea on value?
I have two uncut sheets Topps 1971 and 1972. I'm planning on listing them on ebay but I can't find anything similar there to compare them to. I thought maybe board members would some idea on a good ballpark value. I have photos below. They are not in very good condition as they've been stored rolled up for the last 45 years, and have creases and significant edge wear.
Any advice appreciated! https://www.flickr.com/photos/184902...posted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/184902...posted-public/ |

Welcome to the boards. Did you consider an auctionhouse first? Sounds like your plan is Buy-it-Now/Best Offer. It might be better served with REA or Heritage, IMO.

REA and Heritage are major auctionhouses like Sotheby's. You would consign the item to them, they would take pictures and list it, handle the sale, and mail it out themselves. But it would get in front of bigger spenders.
If you want to sell it on eBay, you can. I just think this type of item would sell better in a major auctionhouse.

Those should both go to an established hobby AH.
Interesting patterns. The 1971 sheet uses the old 4,4,4 Topps pattern but it's sequenced AAB not ABA. that 72 sheet is 3,3,3,3 AABB. Wonder why they decided to switch things up so late in the game? |

I just picked up this 1971 Topps (partial) uncut sheet of 90 cards this week. It appears that a previous owner was intent on displaying the sheet in this particular frame and trimmed it down to the necessary dimensions so that it would just fit inside. The 90 cards are comprised of 10 rows and 9 columns with only two rows (in center) of cards appearing just once on the sheet while all of the others appear twice, including card #400 Henry Aaron. Card numbers appear to be pretty much all in the #400's. There are a few horizontal creases but no significant edge or corner damage other than the trimming of the sheet.
I am going to display this rarity for now but if anyone is very interested in acquiring it, I could probably be persuaded into selling it. Please let me know if you have any questions as I'm not sure how clear my pics are going to show up here. Last edited by bcbgcbrcb; 09-29-2020 at 02:12 PM. |
