Re-thinking Casey At Bat
Here is a nice article I thought you guys might enjoy. I never once considered the obvious fact that the opposing manager should have pitched around Casey with first base open.

Men were men back then.
Maybe the pitcher was confident he could paint the corners. Maybe they had found a hole in Casey's swing. Maybe the hitter behind Casey owned the pitcher.
