I participate in Facebook groups dedicated to unopened packs and boxes. There are lots of transactions in there daily. I have both bought and sold in them, with great success. Stuff that is reasonably priced (not over priced and also not outlandishly cheap) tends to sell quickly. I've been involved with them for about two years with no troubles. I'm sure different groups might have different results, but the groups I'm in are pretty strictly moderated. People who troll or are just jerks get the boot quickly. So I'm a big fan of them.

Bobby - I have ended up in the following Groups

$100 and Under Pre War, T206, Tobacco Cards
https://www.facebook.com/groups/369758598178280

1955 topps set builder
https://www.facebook.com/groups/234691307547354

Vintage Baseball Cards
https://www.facebook.com/groups/vintagebbcards

Harmon's Old-Time Baseball Cards - Buy-Sell-Trade & Show Them Off
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1728952140726377

I have listed a few cards over the last week or so in "1955 Topps" but haven't had much inquiry on them

I did do a purchase on the T206 Page just last week which did go smoothly although I was a bit apprehensive sending the $150 up front. Guy I purchased came thru beautifully upon receipt of my payment. Sent Photo of package and tracking number the next morning.

Hope this helps

also - I sent Payment via Paypal (added 3% for Goods and Services)

Really good question - I tried a little bit on Facebook with not much luck, the Marketplace is maybe how you want to do it - through someone you know or yourself. Setting up a page yourself is easy, just not something extra I would want to do. I already have enough going on and the best options are the B/S/T, maybe eBay, flea markets and shows are a lot of fun!

Good luck!

I sell about 90% on facebook and 10% on ebay. If you get into the good, trusted groups you'll do just fine. If you get into any that have the words "keep it real" in the title, get ready for douchebag city.

But in all seriousness, it's a great way to buy and sell and you can save a lot of money on seller fees. I've met a number of great people as well.

I've had very few problems, but that's because I'm careful where I list and who I sell to. Asking for vouches from members of the group about someone I'm about to make a deal with is always a good idea if I'm new to the group or not familiar with the other party. I use PayPal mainly for payments. I've also used Venmo and even accepted cash. There are groups for whatever you're into. Some of my favorites are Tobacco Row, Tobacco Card Collectors, Vintage Non Sports Pre 1984, any of Harmon's groups, Don Mattingly Collectors, Vintage Baseball Cards. I'm also an admin for both Vintage Yankees Baseball Cards and Vintage Yankees Memorabilia. Both of those are great groups as well.

And Leon, I do a fair amount of buying here on the BST as well. I've had many successful transactions over the years. I should have put that in my initial post. This site has been an invaluable source of information for me.

This site has been great to me. I don't get spoken down to like I am a 5 year old here. That was the first thing I noticed about the group I am trying to sell in.

This was a pic I posted to show them the type of stuff I had....

I literally had to explain why I couldn't price a 1955 Bowman Hank Aaron that looked like it would grade a '7' or an '8' at the price of what a PSA 2 would bring!!! That being said, what type of price is usually in line for raw cards?? Do ya'll predict what they would grade and knock $50 off?

Hopefully folks in this thread also use the BST here. There are a ton of transactions.
I have picked up for my collection as well as have bought, traded and sold a ton of stuff there.

I need to start listing more in here. I am ashamed at how much stuff I have accumulated.

No matter the location you are selling it is all about the asking price on if you sell. If you list at a realistic price they will sell. As already been mentioned ebay is awesome for ungraded pricing. I find cards that sold in similar condition and try to price in the middle of ebay sold prices. I also take around 10% off that price for the fees I no longer have to pay. No clue about facebook groups.

The B/S/T section is also great and if priced right stuff sells. The auction section is still a $hit show at best with one guy making up almost half the listings. They are also listed so insanely high only one out his last 15 have even sold.

100 percent depends on which groups you are in. Many are great, some are not.

Great way to meet friends and engage in the hobby as well.

I'm mostly a buyer on FB. I like the Cincinnati Reds groups. I don't understand buying in the Ken Griffey Jr group, Real 90s Inserts, or Seattle Mariners group. They sell spots like a lottery most of the time. I hate losing money with nothing in return.

Personally, I prefer BST here, COMC, or ebay.

Default FaceBook sites

I have started and developed three faceBook sites, first, starting with cards ending at 1970. Than I had to start a memorabilia site to keep the card guys happy. As time went on I started a third sit for NY Highlander collectors like myself. All three are doing well.

NY Yankee Cards
https://www.facebook.com/groups/554519474738304/

NY Yankee Memorabilia
https://www.facebook.com/groups/294378937875981

NY Highlanders
https://www.facebook.com/groups/161998975790656

The card and memorabilia site there is tons of buying and selling, but the Highlander site it’s more of a show & tell site, a friendly place to visit. As my collection grew I found the only place I could find collectors like myself is on Net 54. I want my Chesbros and Keelers the gang mostly wants Mantles and Berras. Net 54 has it all, the main hangout.

I am a disabled man and these sites are a good part of my day !
