Topps Super
Recently got hooked on these clickity-clackity cards and am wondering how to best store them. Also, any other neat info./favorite cads from the short-lived Topps Super series would be appreciated. Why did the go belly-up?

I've been sporadically collecting the 1971s. Great images. Grossly underpriced IMO for all but the biggest stars. I picked up commons for a buck and HOFers for $2-$5 at the National this year.

71's are much harder than the 70's. You always see large stacks of the latter at shows but the stack of 71's is always much smaller.
Now, can someone confirm all those 69's with water damage were salvage from the infamous Card Collector's Co. fire years ago? |

Topps Supers
Also have an unopened 70 and 71 pack and a Topps Vault Gibson proof ( sqaured, not rounded). No 69 pack. I have always liked the Supers for the great pictures. I also have the 64s and the white and gray back 80s. Thinner stock, but still great pictures.
The 69s were by far the toughest, and 69 was a great year for test/inserts in general with the Decals, Deckles, Stamps, 4 on 1s, Team Posters and the illustrious Topps Bowie Kuhn card |

1970 Topps Super
I have two Yaz and two Santo cards. one is larger in size and lighter in color then the the others. The lighter Yaz has like a orange dot in the upper left corner and a blue dot on his sleeve. Were there two printing of these cards? The lighter cards have been mistreated. Thanks D.

Interesting about the 69 Supers and the fire. I have a Gibson, Flood, and McCarver, and I know my Gibson has very minor water damage. Can't remember about the Flood and McCarver. I think my Gibson cam from a PSA 6 holder. It now resides in one of my team set albums.

Dave; I think you are correct about the fire
If you check the old CCC ads; they ran some "fire sales" after the fire occured. That should give you the final answer to your question

Yes, there are a lot of EX slabbed 69's with water damage out there. I wonder what else was destroyed/damaged in that fire. I also don't understand the grades on these, they should be lower if there is water damage.
