Storing / displaying 7 Eleven Slurpee cups
Any thoughts on storing and displaying these plastic cups? Obviously they have to be kept out of the sun. I'm currently keeping my small collection wrapped individually in a box, but would like to have a way to take them out and look at them without handling them directly. An empty plastic tennis ball can is too small.

I remember collecting those as a kid. If it were me I would just sit them on a flat surface away from any direct sun. They are plastic. Their half life is like 100 billion years. If they don't get recycled they will be around longer than roaches. And that is a long time!!

Will those fit inside a bat tube? I know the later ones won't , but I'm not sure about that set.
Sun and maybe normal light does bad things to them, as they get yellow and brittle. Pretty much all the 70's cups do. I was keeping loose change in a Bruins cup from Papa Ginos and one day it split neatly in half. Steve B |

I put mine on a shelf...... From collecting Lou Brock, I can tell you there are many different variations on these cups, every one up there is significantly different in some way.
Also, they do split easily, if they split, I just taped them back together from the inside with clear box sealing tape. They have little value, and are quite readily available on ebay. |

Great memories of going to the 7-11 after my baseball games as a 7 and 8 year old. I think they always just seemed to have only 2 or 3 different players available - an impossible set to put together as a kid! (But I drank a lot of Slurpess and did my best!)
I put a small thin shelf up about 6 inches from the ceing going all the way around my bedroom in the 70s - the colors were great and they were away from any direct (or indirect) sunlight. They will last a long time, but any sunlight will first fade and then make them so brittle that they will crumble in your hands. If you are looking for something to protect them, maybe you could look to see if those Beanie Baby cases would work. And, I am guessing you could get a bunch of the holders pretty cheaply nowadays... |

Does anyone know if there is a checklist of these cups?
