| How to pay at a card show

I'm about to attend my first card show in the last 25 years and I assume I'll spend more than the $75 I did back then. Question is how to most dealers accept payment? Is it generally cash only? Do some take paypal on the spot? Thanks |

Cash only. A handful take credit cards.

Usually cash is king...but I the last two shows I was at, several dealers took credit cards using their smart phones and scanner and I had two dealers accept paypal payment. I will say that because of that I spent way more than I was originally going to spend...damn technology! Joshua |

One thing to remember is that if paying by CC, you will have to pay sales tax.

I've gone to several shows in the last couple years, and almost everyone was accepting credit cards or Paypal. Very helpful for sure!! Even I have scanner thingy for my iPad to take credit cards, and I'm a nobody! lol Jimi

I would take mostly cash, and have a cc as a backup. Generally, I can get a better deal from a seller if I tell them I'm paying cash and this is what I can offer. This also gives me the opportunity to go back to the same seller later, and buy another card at perhaps a better price, again. If I pay with a cc, I burn that bridge as cc's typically give us extended spending power and the seller knows I really don't need to have deal cut to buy a card. Cash also help to keep me in a budget.
